It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Professor Farhad Behnamfar, who left us yesterday.

Professor Behnamfar was a distinguished professor of civil engineering and a renowned expert in earthquake engineering, structural control, soil-structure interaction, and seismic retrofitting and rehabilitation of structures. His contributions to the civil engineering community have been invaluable.

As our journal was recently established, we had eagerly looked forward to benefiting from his expertise and guidance as a member of our editorial board. It is a profound loss that he was taken from us before this collaboration could begin.

His passing leaves a deep void in the entire civil engineering community. He will be greatly missed by colleagues, students, and all who knew him.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, and loved ones.
